Tiger Lily Petals

Here is another photograph in the floral abstract series of images I’ve recently taken.  I love the way the petals seem to have a flowing motion, like the dress of a dancer as she spins.

Peach Flower Petals

A few weeks ago my husband bought me flowers for my birthday, and as always I had to photograph them.  They make perfect little models for my macro lens.  And, although I’ve taken so many flower photographs in the past, I’m always amazed to find something new and interesting.  This particular set of photographs are more like floral abstracts, and one thing I liked about them is how much the petals reminded me of flowing fabric.  Anyway, I’ll start the series by sharing this photograph, and I’ll gradually share over the coming weeks.

Flower Reflections

Once again we visit the tiny world through a macro lens.  These three water drops on the petals of a Gerbera Daisy are each showing very different flower reflections, which makes it fun to look at the details.

Purple Flower and Water Drops

Here’s a macro image of a purple and white flower with water drops on its petals.  I don’t know if it is the colors, the water drops, or the lighting in the photo, but there is something about the flower that almost makes it look edible like it’s a candy flower.  I love it, and it is definitely one of my favorite photographs I took in the spring.

Leaf Macro

Rain, Rain go away come back some other day . . . actually, I don’t mind rain.  It can stay for a bit.

I took this picture last year, but thought it was fitting for this rainy week.  And, for those that are never quite sure how something would look as artwork for a wall, I provided a view of this image framed and matted.
