Lion Art: Full Time-Lapse Video

I finished and uploaded the full time-lapse video for my Lion Art.  It is sped up and shows the artwork process from start to finish.

I’ll be starting on my next picture hopefully tonight or tomorrow.  It will be a little different, more of a fantasy type picture, but I’m not going to spill the beans yet.  You’ll have to wait for some sketches.

Here’s the video.  Enjoy!

Shy Clown

It has been a while since I’ve posted one of my artworks, and this one may seem a bit familiar to anyone that has watched this blog over the year.  This is a digital painting portrait where I’ve recently added some updates.  I also have the black and white version without the clown make-up and hair ribbon.

This portrait was actually a redo of a painting I did about 8 years ago.  Sometimes I enjoy going back to old pictures and ideas and completely redoing them to see if I’m able to improve them.  I made a video showing the old version in comparison to this new one, and I’ll make sure to add that to a blog post later today.

Prints available here.

Artwork – Cardinal on Branch

Here is a recent digital painting of a cardinal on a branch.  It was done in a more painterly style, and I’ll add it to my collection of animal pictures.

Art Video – Hiding Behind Masks

I had tried to post this video before, but had some problems.  So, here we go again!  This is my youtube art video showing the coloring process of my recent digital painting.  I think most of my other videos so far have been artwork of animals, so this is a look at how I paint a face.  Portraits are my favorite, but I always seem to struggle in the beginning of a painting.  Things usually come together in the end, which is always a good feeling.

Happy Turtle

Here is my newest artwork, a digital drawing of a hawksbill sea turtle.  It is far different from some of my other animal pictures in my animal series, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.  I had fun with it too.  If you’re interested in seeing the drawing process, I posted a video here on my blog.

Prints of this artwork are available here

Memory: A Female Portrait

Have you ever realized that your visual memory of someone has started to fade.  No longer are the mind’s images vivid and detailed, but instead they are more like ghosts in your mind fading in and out.  Sometimes it doesn’t take a whole lot to bring back those more vivid memories of someone; maybe a smell, photo or sound does the trick.  But, there are some images in my mind that just seem to be fading away.  It’s not always a bad thing, I guess.  But, sometimes I wish I could remember every little detail of their face.

Pet Portraits now Open!

I’ve added a Commission page to my website because I am now available to take pet portrait commissions!  I usually try to open commissions before Christmas because pet portraits can make great gifts, so if you are interested check out the page, Commissions.

For those interested here are some examples of my digital paintings of animals, including my own cat and goldfish.
