Cute Chipmunk

Here’s a cute chipmunk digital painting I recently completed. This little guy lived in our backyard and would often play near our porch. Our cats loved watching him from the window. One day I looked outside and saw this chipmunk sitting on our glider with seeds spread out in front of him as he stuffed his cheeks with them. I thought it would make a cute illustration.

Here are prints for those interested.

Leopard Digital Painting Time-lapse Video

As promised here is the art video of me working on my recent digital painting of a leopard. This one is interesting to me because I enjoy seeing where it started and eventually ended. This artwork seemed to stay in that “ugly stage” for a long time, but all came together in the end, and it always feels good when that happens. I also have a tendency to jump into details before I get down the form, and you can see me make this mistake in this video. I started on the face and got too focused on it, and it took me a while to finally pull away and try to lay down some color on the entire Leopard. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video, and if you do, please consider subscribing to my channel because I have many art videos planned for the future.

Lion Art: Full Time-Lapse Video

I finished and uploaded the full time-lapse video for my Lion Art.  It is sped up and shows the artwork process from start to finish.

I’ll be starting on my next picture hopefully tonight or tomorrow.  It will be a little different, more of a fantasy type picture, but I’m not going to spill the beans yet.  You’ll have to wait for some sketches.

Here’s the video.  Enjoy!

Shy Clown

It has been a while since I’ve posted one of my artworks, and this one may seem a bit familiar to anyone that has watched this blog over the year.  This is a digital painting portrait where I’ve recently added some updates.  I also have the black and white version without the clown make-up and hair ribbon.

This portrait was actually a redo of a painting I did about 8 years ago.  Sometimes I enjoy going back to old pictures and ideas and completely redoing them to see if I’m able to improve them.  I made a video showing the old version in comparison to this new one, and I’ll make sure to add that to a blog post later today.

Prints available here.

Art Video – Hiding Behind Masks

I had tried to post this video before, but had some problems.  So, here we go again!  This is my youtube art video showing the coloring process of my recent digital painting.  I think most of my other videos so far have been artwork of animals, so this is a look at how I paint a face.  Portraits are my favorite, but I always seem to struggle in the beginning of a painting.  Things usually come together in the end, which is always a good feeling.
